Sounds like the valves have a little too much play.
Mine did the same thing. I tightened up the valve
lash to .004 and it got quiet. It should be a tight
fit on the .004 feeler guage. You should barely
be able to pull the gage back out, and double check
it after you tighten up the jam nut.
